Scientific Methodology & Formula Standards
How we source, verify, mathematically model, and validate calculation tools across domestic and agricultural species.
1. Formula Selection & Verification Workflow
- Literature Identification: Primary equations are sourced from authoritative organizations (NRC, WSAVA, AAFCO, FAO, Aviagen, Cobb).
- Dimensional Analysis: Mathematical units and constants are systematically checked for consistency between US Customary and Metric standards.
- Range Testing & Boundary Conditions: Each calculator undergoes automated test suite verification against verified reference calculations.
- Peer Review & Version Tracking: Every calculator maintains an internal version number and last-reviewed date.
2. Unit Systems & Conversion Precision
To prevent rounding drift, calculations are normalized internally to scientific standard units (e.g. kilograms, centimeters, liters) before applying biological exponent functions, and then projected to the user's preferred display unit system.
